Love the lighting and composition. Hens and chicks are so striking looking, love ’em! This photo is exquisite! I’d like to know the answer to Iona’s question too!

They are in a pot so I put them in front of a dark shadowy spot and then used curves to darken it more.

When Hens and Chicks bloom, they always amaze me. They are content to just lay close to the ground and then one day,all of these growths pop up. They are so colorful and fragile too. Beautiful shot. Nice photo. Did you have this in a light box or did you replace the background?

Love it! I like how the light falls on the buds in the middle. (hmm.. are they really called buds or did I just make that word up?)

The last Hens and Chicks I saw were very close to the ground. These are much more interesting….the black background is just right!

They do look like aliens – never thought of it that way. I’ll never look at my hens & chicks the same way again! LOL Love them against that black background!

They do look like the little shop of horrors or something. The black background is fabulous.
