Hello Ellen! Where did you even find a rhododendron out in the elements at this time of the year?? I can’t add much to what has already been stated, but only to echo them. The composition is exquisite! As are the colors, contrasts, dof and clarity. I believe the water droplets only enhance the photo. Good work!

This is so lovely. The color variations, water droplets, sculpted edges and the gentle bend of all those pistils and stamens, all set off by that dark background

The color, clarity and depth of field are just stunning! Please share your camera settings on this shot – I’d love to know what you used so I can learn from it! By the way, I wandered over here via the Mr. Linky feature on the 2010 Virtual Photowalk post – I’m glad it led me here!

Thanks Karen, I wish Mr. Linky had a different name. This was in AP mode – f-4, 1/160 sec , 5mm, -0.7 exposure comp and ISO 100. I sharpened, cropped to almost square and darkened the leaves in photoshop.

You know, I look at this and can almost feel the damp air on my skin. The vibrance is astonishing. Well captured, Ellen….

The colors are super on this one Ellen, the background makes the flowers pop, very nicely done.
