The winter iris (I. unguicularis) are always welcome. When cut and brought inside they have a sweet fragrance.

You have irises in winter? I am SO jealous. We are about to be whomped with 2 feet of snow. Your photo is so soft, it “smells” warm. The complementary are subtle but still convey that visual punch.
