This woman’s stall in Singapore is full of durian, an odd fruit. They have an odor that is described in wildly different ways- from almonds and pleasant to rotten onions and gym socks. I got close enough to side on the not so nice opinion, it is penetrating. Too chicken to eat one. Here’s the link from wikipedia. Check out the sign on the Singapore train, then I don’t have to post the one I took. Below are not so hot shots of the so-called durian building, a theater.
editing to say I fixed the link and here is the sign from the train, I’m sorry I didn’t get the one that said “Mind the Gap” in five languages…

Crazy how that building resembles the fruit, but I suppose that was the point?

Never seen or heard of that fruit…but don’t think I will be trying it anytime soon from your description! Funny signs…No Durians…that says it all!

I have heard it described as ‘eating custard in the toilet’. The signs must have some tourists wondering what sort of animal a durian is! Love the theatre architecture.

I’ll take your word on the smell and pass them by when the plate goes by me at the table. I’m not getting the link for some reason, and I want to see the sign.
