According to my ruler and map Mt. Rainier is 105 miles away if you fly with a crow from this beach at Fort Worden, the state park in my town.
This was last Saturday, I used Doris’s Vintage preset in Topaz Adjust tweaked at at a fairly low opacity. It is rare for such a clear shot of Rainier, lots of human stuff between here and there.

Wow…wow…wow…wow….Every time we come west to visit my brother, we sneak in a day or more at Mt. Rain. SO gorgeous. One of my fave shots of yours ever.

It’s been a hectic day in a hectic week before what promises to be a hectic weekend. And then I scrolled down to this photo. And I sat and breathed and felt serenity settle down. I could make a lot of analytical comments about its technical excellence–all of which would be true–but what seems most important to me is the sheer utter peace it evokes.

What a great image, and Mt. Rainier is so dear to all of us in this region. I especially like the look of Little Tahoma Peak off to the side.

Wow Ellen, what I wouldn’t give for that view. I can’t imagine having that to look at. You’ve framed it beautifully with the birds in the foreground. Julie is right – frame worthy!

Wow, you really caught it out didn’t you! I love Mt. Rainier. Have been there many times as my brother lived in Renton for many years. I use to love sitting on his deck just to look at Rainier from a distance. I haven’t seen it for a while and that means I’ll have to get back out to Seattle again.
