Great looking subjects, horse and rider both in perfect harmony…the swing of the girl’s ponytail even echoes the motion of the pony’s tail. Cool processing, too…makes it feel so intense.

You’ve caught the horse’s anticipation of the event wonderfully. My daughter barrel races and loves the event. But we do require a helmet! Thousand pound animals can pack a punch in this sport! Your super processing adds a vintage feel as there is so much neon equipment etc these days.

I see the Les Schwab bags! They are bright so I agree that toning them down allows the viewer to place the attention on the beautiful horse and rider.

Great action shot that captures the intensity and the focus of both horse and rider.

I like the processing of this – what did you do? The horse’s muscles are amazing. I’m a bit surprised that the rider isn’t wearing a helmet, but I don’t know anything about barrel racing.

Gisele, I added a black and white adjustment layer ( I don’t know if Elements has that) after a Topaz Adjust ‘details’ tweaked and set the blend mode to hard light and masked bits.

I think your processing really suited this subject – the musculature of that horse shows beautifully. Love the rider’s flying ponytail and the pink shinguards (?) on the horse too.

I tend to think quarter horses are the brains in this sport!
