I’m not sure if I like the name or the insect better, I wonder what do boy damselflies think…
The name makes me think of Nell and Snidely Whiplash and Dudley Doright

Pretty colour… not sure if that’s a leaf or wood but the lines of it sure emphasize the long lean line of the Damselfly as he sits on it.

excellent shot, I prefer seeing other people’s shots of these to seeing them in real life :)

I always find their almost flourescent colors fascinating. You’ve done a great job of capturing those colors!

I have yet to be able to capture (photographically speaking) a dragon or damselfly. Congrats to you, Ellen, for doing so.

oh mister snidley!
Your composition is wonderful! Now I know why I’m not getting the result I’ve been looking for with this subject matter. Guess I’ll have to get over not liking to shoot from behind ;)

So nicely composed. the sleek lines of the leaf help to bring out the slim aerodynamic form of the insect.

Great to capture the damselfly on the smooth textured plant. It really makes him/her stand out.
That aqua color is nice to see in a biological being.
