Very nice. I like the focus on the tip of the flower with the rest blurred out. Really draws the eye in.

Beautiful callas with that limited focus among the blurred grouping. White is typically so tough to photograph but you certainly have mastered it.

This is one of the most unique flower photos I’ve ever seen. You had the courage to keep most of the photo in soft focus with just that one lip sharp. It makes the photo so much more interesting than it would have been with standard focus.

The select focus really works well for this shot!

I love this, and the comment regarding the flower as it relates to cartoons. Lilies and ghosts playing harps was the epitome of death in cartoons. Such a sweet death.

Love the focus on the curly tip of the lily with the blur to the front.

This is just an outstanding capture. The blur gives it a surreal, almost abstract feeling.
Callas remind me of Georgia O’Keefe’s painting.

I really like the focus on this – Bill said it best. I defer to him as my spokesperson for this post.

Once more I agree with jackscrap! Like the processing of the picture.

Ellen, you crack me up. Such a wry comment about this pretty photo.

Dreamy and soft, how did they get to be the flowers of death I wonder?

Beautiful shot Ellen. You nailed the little curly part, and from there the lines in the flower just pull the eye down into all that dreamy, blurry goodness.

Great focal point, Ellen. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen calla lilies actually growing, just the cut ones.
