This chimney fell over in the Nisqually earthquake just about ten years ago. We left the top where it lay to have our own personal ruin.
Adding that as earthquakes go this was big but not tragic, just a reminder of the power. Very much unlike Haiti for example, which is in a way more tragic than it was a year ago.

A pretty memorial to the quake. Our plaster ceiling has a crack from the 1965 quake that hit this area, and it is nowhere as nice to look at.
