Another super composition – I’m intrigued by the knots in the trees, they are beautifully shaped themselves. Or are they healed spots where branches have been removed? Gorgeous anyway…

Pat, they were limbed up and have healed over nicely, no stubs is a sign of good pruning.

It’s so perfect. The bird houses look like parts of the trees.

The birdhouses blend so beautifully with the trees–what I like about the picutre is its strong sense of vertical. It’s asubtle pattern that seems to underly the structure of the picture.

what a neat find. So odd how the one panel of the tree stands out.

That is how I envision the Pacific Northwest, even though I’ve never been there. Actually, now that I think of it, you and BillZ are completely responsible for my vision of the area. And Twilight.
Beautiful shot, Ellen. The colors are so vivid and saturated – just what a spring-time wood should be.

Ellen, that is a cool woodland photo, with the added plus of searching for bird houses. I like Mack below too.

Any bird would be happy with this home tucked in the woods. Wonderful textures.

This is a great shot. Is it straight out of the camera or did you do some post-processing? I really like the variety of different textures that you captured.

WOW Ellen, this is so perfect. When I clicked on the image and saw the large version it is just breathtaking…the green in the background adds such an amazing depth to the whole image and the white Birch (?) in the fore ground could not be more perfect. I think without the whole tree it would be a lovely photo but that tree just makes it pop beautfully. Gorgeous
