Gosh, I’d love to see one someday! With my available lenses, that eagle wouldn’t have looked like anything more than a little speck so I’m impressed with your capture.

Perhaps a bit soft when viewed enlarged, but a nice shot never the less. The eye is nicely in focus. Did you do any post processing, sharpening or noise reduction especially?
Very cool to see an eagle up close and get a shot like this.

Steve, I sharpened the eye and added a contrast curve in CS4.

WOW! You got to see a bald eagle that close? A) I’m jealous and B) I’m amazed at the focus–the details on the feather, the curve of the beak, and that crisp eye.
